Ontario Immigration Consultants
Ontario is Canada’s most popular landing destination for immigrants from around the world. As Canada’s most populous province, nearly 40 percent of Canadians call Ontario, home. Ontario is also home to Canada’s capital city, Ottawa, and its largest city, Toronto. In many ways, Ontario is the center of Canada’s economic, social, and political life.
Ontario’s varied landscape ranges from the rocky and mineral-rich Canadian Shield to more than 250,000 lakes which form one-fifth of the world’s fresh water reserves. Moreover, about 60% of the province’s land is classified as forested land, representing 2% of the world’s forests.
Multiculturalism is highly celebrated in Ontario, Toronto being called the most multicultural city in the world. Indeed, more than one hundred languages and dialects are spoken here, including several Algonquian-speaking and Iroquoian-speaking Aboriginal peoples.
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) supports employers by facilitating the immigration of managerial, professional and skilled foreign workers and international students required to meet their human resources needs.
The province of Ontario operates the OINP in partnership with the federal immigration department, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Interested candidates must follow a two-stage process: apply for nomination to the provincial government, and then, if nominated, apply for permanent residence to the federal government.
The OINP is made up of three categories and each category is divided into several streams.
- Human Capital Category
- Employer Job Offer Category
- Business Category
1). Human Capital Category
The OINP Human Capital Category consists of five streams divided into two categories: Ontario's Express Entry streams and the International Graduates streams.
Ontario's Express Entry Streams has three sub categories-
- Ontario Express Entry: Human Capital Priorities Stream
- Ontario Express Entry: French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
- Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream
2). Employer Job Offer Category
Through the Foreign Worker and International Student streams, Ontario employers are able to nominate foreign workers and/or international students with a job offer in Ontario in skilled positions (classified by the Government of Canada as NOC Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B.) Potential applicants may be living abroad or in Canada at the time of applying.
Interested individuals may apply under this category only if they have the support of an Ontario employer who has extended to them a full-time indeterminate job offer, under three streams: foreign workers, international students and In-demand skills.
3). Business Category
The Canada Business Immigration Category of visas was designed to attract experienced business people to Canada. Successful candidates are those who can invest in Canada, start businesses in Canada and generate revenues and employment for Canadians.
Ontario Business Immigration program has two immigration programs directed to applicants with a successful business background.
- The Ontario Corporate Stream (OCS)
- The Ontario Entrepreneur Stream (OES)
